We’ve had our long-term KTM 1190 Adventure R test bike over five months now and ridden more than 3,000 miles across California, Nevada and Arizona. From long-distance trips across the open desert fully loaded to fast technical trail rides with panniers off, we’ve pushed the bike to its limits on almost every type of off-road terrain.

So, both rider and pillion enjoyed the KTM 1190 Adventure R. I’ve no doubt that there are more comfortable bikes for the pillion to sit on, and perhaps the seat needs a bit of modification for those long distance journeys, but in terms of performance you won’t even know that your significant other is there, and that’s the next best thing
The bike is making more power at smaller throttle openings and response is quicker and more robust. The noise increase on the 1190 is a bit less than on the 950/990 and never gets to an annoying point, even at its loudest. We did not see a change in the fuel economy on the 1190 which stayed right at 38-40 MPG.

So neu der Geländeeinsatz ist, so kräfteraubend man den Lenker fest im Griff haben sollte, so gut fühlt sich die KTM 1190 Adventure R jedoch an. Das liegt vor allem am Motor, der wirklich sanft ans Gas geht und wunderbar dosierbar ist.
